"Air travel is the highest priority for tourism in the Algarve and for the country as a whole. Today we can easily reach out to Lisbon but it is difficult to reach Faro", said Talal Al-Bahar. "The Algarve is a wonderful family destination and could attract more people from all over the world, even for short stays. But only with direct flights. " [...] Talal Al-Bahar also questions the fact that the" national airline "(TAP) has direct flights from the United States to Porto and Lisbon and not to the Algarve, "which is the Largest tourist destination in this country".
As "the largest Arab investor in the Algarve" Talal Al-Bahar shares his concern as the company has already "invested € 500 million in the country". "We have been in Portugal for 33 years and it is our pride to see the work done at Pine Cliffs, which today is one of the best resorts in Europe."
Notwithstanding the success of the investments made so far the spokesperson is apprehensive about Vale do Freixo's project: "We have already developed more than 60 projects worldwide and this is the longest licensing we have ever faced, this investment has already begun 17 years ago" says Talal Al-Bahar. "Everyone knows that it is a project of recognized national interest, it comes from a group that has invested a lot in the country and that will employ many people."
